Loran's '03 Cobra

Track ready and track worthy
Testimony

I purchased my 03 Cobra in March of 05. With only 19,000 miles and the stock paper filter intact, I couldn’t resist. I cleaned up my 97 Cobra and traded it in on the “Terminator”. I immediately went to work on it. MGW shifter, Borla exhaust, BBK x-pipe, 95MM MAF, 2.8 inch pulley, custom tune, the works. I wanted to really maximize the cars ability in the turns but was limited with the stock suspension. At this time I was living in Austin and had a local shop put in a complete Maximum Motorsports suspension. I mean everything. Once the shop ran a month over the due date and over budget, I finally go the car back. What a difference the suspension made. However, I started to notice allot of half-ass work on the suspension. Spring perches in upside down, A=arms binding up, missing bolts etc. I decided to do what I could to fix everything and attend the SVTOA Open Track in March at TWS. The car ran good, but felt a little squirley. I was in the pits and turned around and saw a trailer with a MM banner on it an a sign “Chicane23”. I immediately went and talked to John George and introduced myself. I told him what I had done to my car and wanted a second opinion on the car. He gave me his card and I called him about two weeks after the event. He said that he could squeeze me in that week and would take a look at everything.

I took the car into John and at that time met Wayne Manor. Wayne and John were going to both work on my car and I was pleased to see that these guys were for real! Needless to say the suspension was all screwed up. Wayne and John fixed it up nicely. They advised me that I needed to put heavier springs, new shocks/struts and IRS tie rod ends in the car. How could I argue! These guys knew what they were doing.

After I got the car back, I can only tell you that I am very, very impressed with the cars handling ability. I know have a 500 rwhp slot car! For the first test, I took it to MSR and was very satisfied with the results. John and Wayne were there and drove my car to, to see what kind of fine tuning we could do. Great job Chicane23! I will spread the word and recommend you guys to everyone I know!
